Venerable Edward Morgan are seeking to appoint a friendly and hardworking individual to join their current team to care for pupils in the school’s nursery and after school club facility.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic staff member who will be able to work as part of a team to create a fun, safe and inclusive environment. You will help with running the day to day sessions which will include a range of engaging activities.
We are looking for someone who can use their initiative to work on their own, but also enjoy working as part of a team. You will also need to help in ensuring the well-being and safeguarding of all children and staff.
Essential Criteria:
It is essential that the successful candidate should have previous experience in working with children either in a school or childcare environment. They must have the ability to work as part of a team and the skills to encourage children of ages 3 to 11 to join in activities set out by the Supervisory staff. Your work will be under the guidance of the Nursery / Wrap Around Co-Ordinator between the hours of 12:00 and 17:30 (term time).

We are looking for someone who has:
- experience working within the childcare sector
- a recognised playworker qualification, minimum Level 3 Playworker or willing to work towards as an apprentice
- able to work in a team
- hardworking, punctual, reliable, trustworthy
- ability to follow instructions as issued by other staff members
- honesty
- good communication and interpersonal skills
Duties:
- Prepare snack;
- Supervise outdoor play;
- Supervise indoor activities;
- Attend any required courses;
- Responsibility to record time out and taking of fees from parents;
- Dealing with any queries parents may have-passing on messages from teachers;
- Dealing with sick children and any injuries;
- Safeguarding children-ensuring all are happy;
- Follow guidance and instruction from Supervisors;
Desirable Criteria:
Training / Development
Up to date First Aid; Food Hygiene; Safeguarding - Courses can be completed after position has been filled
As part of this apprenticeship, the successful candidate will undertake a structured training programme that includes:
- On-the-job training – gaining practical experience within a school setting.
- Off-the-job training – attending sessions covering safeguarding, behaviour management, child development, and learning strategies.
- Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills.
- Additional learning support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
