Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling (RQF)
The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling (RQF) is a one-day course aimed at learners who already hold a Level 2 fitness qualification and are looking to competently plan and instruct studio cycling sessions. The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling (RQF) provides learners with the extended knowledge, understanding and skills required to competently instruct studio cycling. The qualification will also enable learners to prepare, instruct, demonstrate and evaluate a studio cycling exercise session, highlighting the benefits and safety considerations to be taken into account when designing a studio cycling programme.
Age Ranges
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 or over to undertake this qualification.
Learner Entry Requirements
A learner must have previously completed a Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification.
Assessment Methods
This qualification is internally assessed. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit.
The main pieces of evidence for the portfolio could include some or all of the following:
- Assessor observation
- Witness testimony
- Learner product
- Worksheets
- Assignments/projects/reports
- Record of oral and written questioning
- Learner and peer reports
- Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Progression Routes
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:
- Focus Awards Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Personal Training (RQF)
- Focus Awards Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Exercise Referral (RQF)
- Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Kettlebell Exercises (RQF)
- Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Delivering Circuit Sessions (RQF)
