Number One HSP - Personal Trainer Apprentice
Job Description
Number One Gym in Queensferry are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has a Level 2 in Gym Instructor (will need evidence of certificate if successful), is passionate about fitness and wants to progress their career in the health and fitness industry while completing their Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working in a busy gym environment while learning the skills needed to become a confident and knowledgeable personal trainer.
Duties include:
During the apprenticeship, you will:
- Work towards completing your Level 3 Personal Training qualification
- Support members on the gym floor with guidance and basic exercise technique
- Assist experienced personal trainers and gym staff
- Help deliver inductions and basic training sessions
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the gym
- Build relationships with members and provide excellent customer service
- Learn how to programme workouts and support clients with their fitness goals
- Gain experience in running group sessions and personal training

As part of this apprenticeship, the successful candidate will undertake a structured training programme that includes:
- On-the-job training – gaining practical experience within a school setting.
- Off-the-job training – attending sessions covering safeguarding, behaviour management, child development, and learning strategies.
- Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills.
- Additional learning support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and communication.

Qualifications - Minimum A*-C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
