Job Description
Location: Bala Family Centre, Castle street, LL23 7UY
Subject: Office Administration Apprentice
Hours: 25-30 hours
Contract: Term time
Salary: £9.00 - £12.21 p.h

To prepare, and cook healthy, nutritious, and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children in the nursery, ensuring that all dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences are met, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Duties include:
- Paratoi a choginio prydau cytbwys a byrbrydau ar gyfer plant rhwng 3 mis – 11 oed.
- Darparu ar gyfer anghenion deiet unigol gan gynnwys alergeddau, anoddefiadau a dewisiadau crefyddol/diwylliannol.
- Cynnal safonau uchel o lygredd ac hylendid yn y gegin bob amser.
- Dilyn rheoliadau diogelwch bwyd a chwblhau’r holl ddogfennau angenrheidiol (e.e. gwiriadau tymheredd, rota glanhau, cylchdroi stoc).
- Sicrhau bod meintiau dognau yn addas i oedran a datblygiad y plant.
- Cyfathrebu gyda staff a rhieni ynghylch anghenion deiet neu ymholiadau am fwydlenni.
- Cyfrannu at greu amgylchedd croesawgar, cynhwysol a diogel i blant.
- Prepare and cook balanced meals and snacks for children aged [insert age ranged 3months – 11years
- Cater for individual dietary needs including allergies, intolerances, and cultural/religious preferences.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Follow food safety regulations and complete all required documentation (e.g. temperature checks, cleaning rotas, stock rotation).
- Ensure portion sizes are suitable for children’s ages and stages of development.
- Communicate with staff and parents regarding dietary needs or menu queries.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for children.
Essential Criteria:

- Gallu gweithio’n annibynnol ac fel rhan o dîm.
- Experience working as a cook, ideally in a nursery, school, or care setting.
- Knowledge of healthy eating for children, including weaning and early years nutrition.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergy management.
- Ability to plan and manage food stock within a budget.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to work towards).
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria:
