Maddy Lovell
Maddy is currently pursuing her Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification at Ysgol Llan-Y-Pwll. She began her journey with us last summer through the Jobs Growth Wales program, which provides a pre-apprenticeship experience focused on employability skills and a Level 1 qualification. During this time, Maddy’s passion for working with children became evident.
Among her peers, Maddy was the sole student who opted for the Level 1 Preparing to Work in Schools qualification, while others chose the Level 1 Sports Coaching route. Not only did Maddy complete both Level 1 qualifications, but she also finished her Digital Literacy controlled assessment over the summer break. Her commitment and determination made it clear that she was an ideal candidate for immediate enrolment in the Level 2 STLS course.
Since then, Maddy has thrived in her role, demonstrating remarkable patience and nurturing skills within the classroom. Her ability to build strong relationships with both students and staff has been impressive.
At the school’s request, Maddy will remain for another academic year. She has expressed a keen interest in advancing to her Level 3 qualification once her current course is complete.
Quote from Maddy’s Tutor Leah Wild
“Observing Maddy’s growth in confidence and her adaptability in working with children with diverse needs has been a rewarding experience. Maddy’s contributions have been highly valued, and she has consistently received positive feedback about her progress. It has been a pleasure to be part of Maddy’s journey, and I look forward to continuing to support and work with her as she continues to excel”.
Quote from Maddy
"I'd never thought about going into being a teaching assistant but I'm so glad I did as I enjoy it so much, getting to know the children and gaining a relationship with them is probably the most rewarding. The schoolwork on the other hand is very interesting and good to know I've learnt a lot over the past year. Dal ati a pheidiwch ag edrych yn ôl"
