James Smyth and Ruby Ellis

James and Ruby became new apprentices this academic year in Wood Memorial CP School completing the Level 2 Activity Leadership qualification. The day to day roles that they complete in the school are both very different. James focuses heavily on all extracurricular activities relative to sport to improve participation within the school whilst also classroom support for teachers whereas Ruby focuses creating and maintaining Wood Memorial’s very own forest school. Since starting the apprenticeship both learners highlighted the fact of how much they have grown in confidence with problem solving, dealing with different situations, communicating with other staff, and working within a team that all want to achieve the same outcome.
