Duties include:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both inside and outside the classroom. Your role will be vital in ensuring that all students feel supported, engaged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working full-time within a secondary school setting as a Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting pupils with numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
  • Assisting children who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Contributing to classroom displays and preparation of learning resources
  • Working alongside teachers to support delivery of lessons
  • Supporting children both in and out of the classroom
  • Upholding the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies
  • Working with students aged 11 to 16 in a professional and respectful manner

  • Previous experience working with children or young people

  • Competence in numeracy, literacy, and ICT
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own time effectively
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Smart, professional appearance
  • A mature and responsible attitude suitable for working in a school environment
  • Ambitious, hardworking, and eager to develop professionally
  • A strong desire to act as a positive role model for young people

 

The apprenticeship includes both on-the- job learning and off-the-job training which leads to nationally recognised qualifications
