Gaynor Thomas - Programme Manager - Leadership & Management
Gaynor has over 20 years’ experience within education. She taught all Primary age ranges and classes, from Nursery to Year 6, and held leadership positions for Science, ALNCo and Literacy, as well as serving as the Professional Mentor for her school.
Gaynor was selected for a five-year secondment to Welsh Government as an External Mentor, and also took the role of interim Professional Planning Co-Ordinator for north Wales. During this time, Gaynor mentored both school-based and supply NQTs across both Primary and Secondary sectors, and supervised three cohorts of more experienced teachers participating in the Masters in Educational Practice (MEP). She also acted as the mentor liaison with Welsh Government and Cardiff University. Gaynor participated in the Welsh Government working party for reviewing and revising the teacher standards, and the working party to review leadership standards, and is an active panel member for the Education Workforce Council.
