Wales Health & Wellbeing Award Winners 2026

Achieve More Training recognised with two national wellbeing awards
Achieve More Training (AMT) has been recognised at the Mental Health & Wellbeing Wales Awards 2026, receiving the Outstanding Impact in Education award and Bronze in the Workplace Wellbeing category for organisations with fewer than 250 employees.
The Outstanding Impact in Education award recognises AMT’s work to strengthen health and wellbeing leadership in schools across Wales. Working with Public Health Wales’ Healthy Schools team and Agored Cymru, AMT has helped develop the Level 4 Leading Health and Wellbeing qualification, addressing a long-standing gap in formal development for school staff leading this vital agenda.
The work-based qualification equips staff to analyse wellbeing needs, develop practical plans, engage partners and embed a sustainable whole-school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing. It aligns with the Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning and Experience within Curriculum for Wales and supports schools to turn policy expectations into meaningful action for both pupils and staff.
AMT was also recognised for its commitment to the wellbeing of its own workforce. The organisation has developed a culture centred on trust, openness and its TEAM ethos: Together Everyone Achieving More. Staff have helped shape “at its best” statements which bring AMT’s values to life through everyday behaviours, supportive teamwork and shared accountability.
Practical wellbeing support includes annual gym membership, private healthcare, 39 days’ annual leave, paid weekly football and padel sessions during working hours, three staff away days each year, and personalised opportunities for mentoring, career development and professional learning.
Matt Hilliker, Director of Achieve More Training, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive recognition in both education and workplace wellbeing. Our work is founded on a simple belief: when people feel valued, supported and empowered, they are better placed to achieve positive outcomes for themselves, their colleagues and the learners they support.
“The Outstanding Impact in Education award is particularly meaningful because it recognises the collaborative work behind the new Level 4 Leading Health and Wellbeing qualification. We want to help schools across Wales build the confidence, skills and leadership capacity needed to place wellbeing at the heart of school life.”
The awards recognise AMT’s commitment to creating lasting impact: supporting staff wellbeing internally while helping schools across Wales build stronger, more inclusive and preventative approaches to health and wellbeing.
