Strength and Conditioning Revolutionizes Youth Football in Conwy

The Conwy Schools Football Association (CSFA) is delighted to announce the integration of strength and conditioning sessions, delivered by FFIT Conwy, into its Conwy County Football Programme starting with the 2024/25 season. This exciting addition is designed to equip young athletes with the skills, fitness, and knowledge needed to excel both on and off the field.

The sessions, tailored to improve strength, agility, injury prevention, and overall athleticism, have already proven to enhance on-pitch performance while fostering long-term health, discipline, and focus among players. This forward-thinking initiative underscores the CSFA’s commitment to developing well-rounded athletes capable of competing at the highest levels.

All Strength and Conditioning sessions are delivered by knowledgeable and accredited instructors through FFIT Conwy, as part of the junior fitness programme. The success of the strength and conditioning sessions is a testament to the partnership between Conwy Schools Football Association (CSFA), FFIT Conwy and Achieve More Training. Together, they are setting new standards for youth football development in Conwy County. Jake Conway, Junior Membership Officer at FFIT Conwy, praised the program, saying:
“The Conwy SFA Strength and Conditioning programme has been a fantastic success so far, with young athletes making incredible progress with their physical performance and confidence on and off the pitch. Together with Achieve More Training, we are building a strong future for sport in Conwy.”

Conwy Schools FA now in its 4th year is committed to refining and expanding this program based on the valuable feedback received. There are 9 county-wide representative boys and girls teams competing across North Wales in their respective ages and plans are underway to make future sessions even more frequent, engaging, varied, and beneficial. The CSFA extends heartfelt thanks to all participants for their input and dedication, which are essential in shaping the best possible experience for young athletes.

Staff at Conwy SFA and Achieve More Training want to extend a sincere thank you to FFIT Conwy for their vital role in delivering the strength and conditioning sessions. Their dedication to improving the fitness and well-being of Conwy’s youth is helping shape the future of football in our community.
