Young Artists Shine as Apprentice Nicola Inspires Success at St John the Baptist VA School

Children's artwork selected for publication following creative after-school project led by Teaching Assistant Apprentice

A group of talented young artists from St John the Baptist VA School, Flintshire, are celebrating after their artwork was selected for publication in a national art book, thanks to a creative project led by Teaching Assistant Apprentice, Nicola Robinson.

Currently completing her Level 2 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with Achieve More Training, Nicola has made an outstanding contribution throughout her placement at the school. Her latest success came through her work with the school's after-school club, The Little Disciples, where she encouraged and supported pupils to take part in the Young Artists "Ocean Artist" Competition.

With Nicola's guidance, creativity and enthusiasm, the children produced a fantastic collection of artwork inspired by the theme of the ocean. Their hard work has now been recognised with the exciting news that the artwork has been selected for inclusion in an upcoming Young Artists Art Book, a wonderful achievement for both the pupils and the school.

The success doesn't stop there. The artwork is also in the running to be named the overall winning entry, with the opportunity to secure £1,000 worth of prizes for St John the Baptist VA School should it be selected as the competition winner.

For Nicola, the achievement represents far more than an art competition. It highlights the positive impact apprentices can have in schools by bringing fresh ideas, creativity and enthusiasm into children's learning experiences.

Throughout her apprenticeship, Nicola has demonstrated a genuine passion for supporting young people, encouraging confidence, participation and creativity. Her commitment to helping every child achieve their potential has made her a valued member of the school community.

Speaking about Nicola's achievement, her assessor at Achieve More Training said:

"Nicola has embraced every opportunity throughout her apprenticeship and consistently looks for ways to make learning engaging and enjoyable for the children she supports. This project is a fantastic example of her creativity, initiative and commitment, and we're incredibly proud to see both Nicola and the children receive recognition for their hard work."
