Courtney Ingram started on the AMT traineeship programme in the summer of 2022 and completed her Level 1 and 2 sports coaching. Courtney then progressed to gaining an apprenticeship at Ysgol Y Faenol as a Level 3 PE and School Sport apprentice.
She is now about to finish her Level 3 PESS and has been given a full-time position at the school.

During my time on the apprenticeship, my confidence and communication skills have grown massively by having the opportunity to be in the workplace every day gaining real experience working with the children and my colleagues.
I have learnt about how the school day runs and gained lots of hands on experience working with different year groups and supporting their learning, both in the classroom and also with the delivery of PE, sports clubs and events.
The qualifications have linked into my job role, and I have had opportunities to put into practice what I’ve learnt. It has been great to get paid whilst studying and gaining experience, without having to leave the workplace as my assessor would visit me at work, which worked well for me.
I have recently gained a full-time role at my school, due to the headteacher being impressed with me. I look forward to continuing to be a positive role model for the children!
