Conwy Schools FA Players Star in National Schoolboys Victory Over Swansea City Academy

Charlie Bargate and Jaxen Winmill, both proud products of the Conwy Schools Football Association, were named in the National Schoolboys squad for a highly competitive fixture against Swansea City Academy, helping secure an impressive 3–2 victory.
The match began at a frantic tempo, with both sides showing real intensity and quality from the opening whistle. WSFA took the lead after 15 minutes when Conwy County’s Jaxen Winmill showed excellent composure inside the box to calmly finish and give his side an early advantage.
Swansea City Academy responded well and applied sustained pressure, eventually finding an equaliser just two minutes before half-time to send the teams into the break level at 1–1.
The second half saw Charlie Bargate introduced in goal, immediately demonstrating calmness and confidence. His composure on the ball helped WSFA build play from the back and remain controlled during key moments of the game.
Ten minutes into the half, WSFA restored their lead in spectacular fashion. A brilliant move through the middle created space for Jaxen, who unleashed a stunning left-footed strike from around 30 yards, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance and underlining an outstanding individual performance.
Swansea continued to push and managed to equalise once again, but the WSFA boys showed excellent character and resilience. Staying composed under pressure, their persistence paid off with a well-worked third goal to regain the advantage.
The team managed the closing stages professionally to see out a deserved victory against strong opposition.
