AMT and Colwyn Bay FC Foundation Launch PE & School Sport Apprentice Partnership for central North Wales

Colwyn Bay FC Foundation and Achieve More Training Launch New PE & School Sport Apprentice Programme Across North Wales

The Colwyn Bay FC Foundation, in partnership with Achieve More Training, is proud to launch an exciting new PE & School Sport Apprentice Programme designed to support primary schools across the Denbighshire and Conwy regions of North Wales.

The community-focused initiative offers schools a sustainable and impactful way to strengthen physical education, increase opportunities for young people, and enhance wider classroom support through the placement of highly trained apprentices.

By combining the influence of a trusted local football foundation with structured education and workforce development, the programme aims to inspire pupils, support schools, and create meaningful career pathways for young people within the local community.

Supporting Schools Through Sport, Education and Community

The programme places apprentices into partner primary schools where they work across PE lessons, extra-curricular sport, physical activity initiatives, and classroom support.

Each apprentice works towards a Level 3 qualification in PE & School Sport and Teaching Assistance, gaining valuable practical experience while making a positive contribution to school life from day one.

Through the partnership with the Colwyn Bay FC Foundation, apprentices help schools to:

  • Increase participation in physical activity and school sport
  • Encourage confidence, teamwork, and positive wellbeing
  • Enhance pupil engagement, attendance, and enjoyment of school
  • Support wider curriculum delivery and classroom learning
  • Promote inclusion, community identity, and opportunities for young people across North Wales
  • Develop local talent through high-quality education and employment pathways

The initiative has been designed to provide long-term value for schools while strengthening links between education, sport, and the wider community.
