Achieve More Training hosted the mixed Primary 5’s Festival on the 21st of March 2023 and the girls only festival on the 28th of March 2023 The event was a massive success, having over 270 pupils and 28 teams across both events. We managed to double the number of teams at the event from the year before which was great for us as one of our main aims was to increase the number of children participating in sports. All pupils received a medal for participating in the festival as previously mentioned the participation increase was a huge target for us, so we wanted to reward all pupils for coming along and taking part. Well done to all schools who took part in the event and congratulations to Ysgol San Sior (Mixed event winners) and Ysgol Craig Y Don (Girl’s event winners) on winning this year’s Primary 5’s events. It was a truly amazing day, we would also like to thank the teachers for getting involved and making sure that the event was well received and run smoothly. A huge thank you to Kai Hughes, Osian Hughes-Bell, Connor Murphy and Sam Tocker who are Achieve More Training shared apprentices who organised and led the event and many thanks to Ysgol Eirias for their support of volunteers on the day. We are very grateful to have a great connection with Ysgol Eirias and the volunteers that supported the day enrolled on our Level 2 Sports Coaching course last academic year. Finally, we have received some glowing feedback from the schools that participated in the event such as “Very well organised”, “smooth communication throughout”, “the event was slick in the delivery”, “Excellent. Briefing at the beginning is always effective, someone was always on hand if we had any queries” and many more including many teachers commenting on how brilliant it was to see so many schools participating in both events which was double on both events compared to last year! Thanks again to everyone who participated in the event, and we hope to continue our progress and growth in participation in schools’ football in the Conwy County.
