Level 2 Playwork
This qualification is aimed at those learners already working in a play setting such as pre-school, nursery, wrap around care, playgroups, schools, youth settings and community clubs.
The purpose of the qualification is to develop the knowledge and skills of learners to competently carry out the role of a playworker. Learners will acquire the knowledge and understanding of the principles of playwork and ways to support children and young people’s play. The qualification also covers areas such as promoting positive behaviour/communication/health, safety, and wellbeing.
Qualification Structure
The learner must achieve all 45 credits from the 12 mandatory units in Group A and a minimum of 16 credits from the optional units in Group B.
Learner Entry Requirements
Learners must be 16+
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, but practical elements will be assessed on the course.
There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2
