Qualification Purpose:

The Level 3 Developing Health and Wellbeing qualification is designed for individuals supporting health and wellbeing within educational settings.

It provides learners with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to promote physical, emotional, social, and mental wellbeing in children and young people, aligned with Welsh Government guidance.

This qualification supports those working in schools or community settings to deliver effective wellbeing practices and contribute to a whole-setting approach.

Age ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 18 to undertake this

Learner Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements, however learners should be working or intending to work within education or wellbeing support roles.

Assessment Methods

Learners will complete a portfolio of evidence demonstrating achievement across all units.

Assessment methods may include:

  • Practical application in the workplace
  • Professional discussions
  • Written assignments
  • Reflective practice

Progression Routes

Learners seeking progress from this qualification can advance their skills further through the following:

  • Level 3 Supporting PE and School Sport
  • Level 4 Higher level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Level 4 Leading Health and Wellbeing
  • ILM Level 4 Leadership and Management in Education

Mandatory units

 

Learners will need to complete all 6 mandatory units to meet the 25 credits.
