Job Description

Location: North Wales
Subject: Education
Hours: 37.5 Per Week
Salary: £21,000 - £30,000 (Dependant on Experience)

• To train apprenticeship learners in an education environment, specifically in the Playwork and Supporting, Teaching and Learning routes.
• To give additional support where necessary and make assessment decisions to judge competence against their chosen apprenticeship programmes.
• Maintain delivery standards
• To undertake quality activities as directed by the Head of Quality and Operations
• To produce programme appropriate reports detailing internal quality assurance activities
• Complete organisational documentation for IQA activities including but not limited to IQA Sample Plan and IQA reports.
• Support in preparation for External Quality Assurance visits
• Maintain compliance in accordance with guidelines set by Welsh Government
• Welsh speaker desirable

Duties include:

• To maintain a small caseload of learners.
• Initially assess prior achievements, identify learner suitability for the apprenticeship
• Identify learner support needs e.g. Essential Skills and Soft Skills
• Agree learner starting points and set targets to develop and progress through the apprenticeship programme
• Deliver classroom, small group and individual sessions of vocational and employability skills in person and online.
• Ensure Essential Skills, Equality & Diversity, British Values and Prevent is embedded into all sessions
• Ensure target setting motivates the learner and give written and oral feedback on progression towards agreed targets
• Ensure targets are met by learners
• Review learner progress in accordance with contractual requirements and the organisation’s systems
• To undertake quality activities as directed by the Head of Quality and Operations and the organisational quality calendar.
• To produce programme appropriate reports detailing internal quality assurance activities
• Provide feedback and co-ordinate action resolutions with tutor/assessors and learners within specified timelines
• Complete organisational documentation for IQA activities including but not limited to IQA Sample Plan and IQA reports.
• Feedback to Head of Quality and Operations on reporting matters
• Provide support, advice and guidance to tutor/assessors and learners on qualification matters
• Ensure highest standards in accordance with guidelines set by Welsh Government and Qualification Awarding bodies.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties expected of this role as outlined by your line manager
• Report any delayed safeguarding unit implementation to DSL.
• Support in preparation for External Quality Assurance visits
• Attend and contribute to standardisation in area of allocation.

Essential Criteria:

• Fully qualified Assessor (D32/33/A1/TAQA L3/CAVA L3)
• Experience of working within the education sector
• Knowledge of roles and responsibilities within the education sector
• Have own transport to meet employers and learners within workplace throughout North Wales.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of ESF funded programmes such as Apprenticeships and Job Growth Wales+
• Competent to converse and support learners in the medium of Welsh
