Pay: £144.30 per week
Hours of work: 30 hours per week
Positions available: 1
Working in a successful Secondary school and acting as a great sporting role-model for our young people, you will organise and run safe and enjoyable activities at lunchtimes, support teachers delivering PE and run after school sport activities.
We are looking for a Sports Coaching Apprentice to become part of the team in our friendly, successful secondary school.
We want someone who:
· Will be a great sporting role-model for our children
· Can organise and run safe, structured and enjoyable activities at breakfast clubs, breaks and lunchtimes
· Will be able to support teachers while they deliver PE lessons
· Can organise and run sport and fitness sessions after school for children of all ages and abilities
· Support and lead on the YA scheme
· Support teachers with organising and maintaining equipment, following latest government guidance
· Support PE staff with attendance at events, festivals and competitions
· Provide knowledge of physical literacy approach embedded within PESSPA
· Encourage new whole school initiatives to improve ‘health and wellbeing’ such as the ‘daily mile’ and ‘road to Tokyo’
· Work with Conwy Sport to offer a wide range of holistic sport and physical activity clubs
· Support feeder schools participation and transition to secondary school through sport and physical activity events and initiatives
· Develop and work with a student sports council to enhance feedback to the PE Dept
· Support staff to deliver the Duke Of Edinburgh’s award scheme
Desirable personal qualities
· Strong sporting background
· Experience of coaching/working with children
· Good organisational skills
· Strong communication skills
Training to be provided
The Apprenticeship includes both on-the- job learning and off-the-job training which leads to nationally recognised qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum A*-C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Level 2 Coaching Certificate / Equivalent
Apprenticeship to be undertaken
Level 3 NVQ Supporting PE and School Sport
