Title – Level 2 Gymnastics Coach with Team Leader responsibilities

Pay Scale – £8140.27 – £11992.50 – term time 39 weeks to be agreed dependent upon age and experience

Period – initially for maternity cover starting September 2021 term (induction period summer term before summer break) .

Hours of work – 39 weeks Term time 28.75–30.75 hours per week* (£8140.27-£11992.50 pay scale) *RDGC will consider a job share position should there be sufficient interest.

Advertised – In-house and externally – You will join us in an initial induction period assisting in the gym before taking a position in a leading level 2 role (tumble and vault ) coach to provide maternity cover .

Your role will be to plan and lead two 90 minutes classes per evening session. This will include a warm up and conditioning/ target keyskill session to whole group and then split with another coach for target apparatus work .

For the right candidate there may be an opportunity to extend the role and a more permanent position.

Building on this in reflective practice and technical research, is an essential commitment to continue your continued professional development in post and adopting practices effectively to share with others in your team.

Adopting Professional approaches – Every gymnast springs into our gym excited to learn. Level 2 great planning for the medium term and incorporating a child centred approach to learning encapsulates this relationship where every gymnast will endeavour to nurture and prosper at RDGC.

Commitment – We are looking for that enthusiastic professional player committed in their position to prepare in advance innovative and fun lessons for all levels and ages that they teach every week.

Quality standard – As one of our full time Coaches you will be able to offer a uniform standard and quality across the week to different gymnasts. This a valuable quality assurance we can offer as we work in a smaller team as coaches and deliver to a reduced membership post covid 19 and we are looking for that special addition to our RDGC professional coaching team.

Mentoring duties Our in-house Academy is a training supported pathway and Level 2 Coaches play an integral part in that.

UKCC 1 coaches and volunteers follow direction and lead to build content and their confidence to plan , deliver their fresh energetic fun sessions each week.

As a level 2 coach you will have a vital role in planning and leading MTP for teams warm ups, KEYSKILLS and conditioning whilst also offering a mentor role to others.

Additional duties – Opening the gym carrying out open checks. Daily cleaning duties prior to opening and during session Attend meetings and communicate effectively with other members of the team. Attending training as required.

Essential Qualifications – Level 2 Team Gym or Artistic or enrolled and part way through qualification Enhanced DBS.

Preferential Qualifications – 3 day First aid or emergency first aid for sport.

  • Tuesday 3.30-8.15pm
  • Wednesday 3.30-8.15pm
  • Thursday 3.30- 8.15pm
  • Friday 3.30- 8.15pm
  • Saturday 8.30am-3.30pm

Rate of pay per hour – £6.56-£9.03 per hour plus holiday pay 39 week term time contract.
