Achieve More Training has teamed up with JD Cymru North club Llandudno to provide fully bilingual work-based learning and apprenticeship opportunities in Conwy and north west Wales
The partnership, which provides local opportunities for young people in Conwy who want a career in education, sport or leisure, partnered with the club in August, and also offers employers within the three sectors a free apprentice recruitment service.
Staff at Achieve More Training have over 30 years of experience working within education, sport and leisure, and provide national occupational standard training for apprentices who are new to these three sectors.
As part of the partnership, Achieve More Training and Llandudno FC have appointed A Licence candidate, Rich Cashman, as Conwy tutor and Community Partnership Manager. As part of the deal, Llandudno took advantage of the FREE apprenticeship recruitment service and have employed Connor Murphey (16) from Llandudno as a school sport and community coach apprentice.
Matt Hilliker, director of Achieve More Training, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Sam Williams at Llandudno Football Club to share this partnership. There is a great opportunity to work with the local authority, schools and leisure departments to create and sustain work-based learning pathways in sport, leisure and education for the benefit of local young people.
Sam Williiams, from Llanduno FC, commented: “We want to create a hub for the community here at LLFC, and it’s great to have set these initiatives up with Achieve More. Connor has volunteered as a young person for years around the club, so to offer him a formal pathway to get qualified, gain more experience and start his career with us is fantastic!’
